David Asprey: Avoid oat and almond milk

oat milk

Biohacker and wellness expert Dave Asprey recently called out two popular plant-based milks to avoid, and offered healthier alternatives that support better skin, digestion, and overall wellness.

Oat Milk

According to Asprey, oat milk is often high in sugar and phytic acid, which can block mineral absorption. It’s also commonly contaminated with glyphosate (a harmful herbicide), even when labeled organic.

Almond Milk

While popular, almond milk is rich in both phytic acid and oxalates. These compounds may contribute to skin issues and increase the risk of kidney stones.

Macadamia Milk

Asprey recommends macadamia milk for its healthy fats and low toxin load. It can be pricier, but it offers a better nutritional profile.

Coconut Milk

A more affordable and widely available choice, coconut milk is low in antinutrients and rich in medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which support metabolism.
